Prince Harry, Meghan invited to King Charles’s coronation, says spokesperson. But will they go?

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, have received invitations to the coronation of their father, King Charles, but have not publicly confirmed that they will attend, Harry’s spokesman said on Sunday.

Preparations for the event in May have been overshadowed by revelations from the couple about the King, Harry’s brother Prince William and other members of the royal family in a new memoir, a Netflix documentary and several TV interviews.

His high profile and criticism of his family have fueled speculation over whether Harry, who will step down from royal duties in 2020, will be invited to the coronation and, if so, whether he will attend.

“I can confirm the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation,” Harry’s spokesman said.

“An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be revealed at this time.”

Buckingham Palace has not responded to a request for comment.
