Mohamed Salah became Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League after scoring his 129th goal for the club with a brace in a 7-0 win over Manchester United.
The 30-year-old has surpassed Robbie Fowler’s record 128 goals, surpassing previous club legends Steven Gerrard (120) and Michael Owen (118).
This season, the Egypt international has struggled in front of goal, amid a wider slump for Jurgen Klopp’s side – but Salah took his season’s league tally to 11 with his second win at Anfield.
An explosive campaign, the 2017/18 premiership on Merseyside remained his best – scoring 32 goals to claim the Golden Boot.
That tally represents a record haul in a 38-game Premier League season and he has gone on to convert more than 19 goals in every full season.
In terms of opponents, Salah has now scored a career-high 10 league goals for Liverpool against the side he helped out on Sunday, Manchester United.
The Egyptian has also scored nine times against Watford and West Ham, while his best scoring ratio is against Leeds – with seven goals in just five appearances.
Salah is also on the verge of becoming the Premier League’s top scorer for left-footed goals with 102 so far – but both goals against Manchester United and a strike against Wolves in midweek ended with his right boot.
Only eight of Salah’s 129 goals have been shot from outside the box, with the majority from the right-centre area, between the six and 18-yard lines – when he cuts in from his preferred right.
It’s true that Salah’s return as a wide forward could be converted to expectations of a traditional ‘winger’, but the heat map below shows that he has been close to the touchline for the past two campaigns.
You can use the interactive table below to scroll through and sift through all of Salah’s 129 Premier League goals for Liverpool, all the way back to their first in a 3-3 draw against their favourites, Watford…
