Stacey Rusch has been a breakout star since her debut on The Real Housewives of Potomac, but her co-stars haven’t always received her well.
She recently opened up about “being vindicated” and the real “villain” of RHOP in a new interview.
“I think, unfortunately, I spent a lot of time last season, you know, fighting for my life,” Stacey shared with Vulture. “So… they weren’t able to embrace that. We were always talking about other things… all the lies that weren’t lies.”
Stacey did note she was “vindicated in many ways,” but she felt this was not the “first time” that someone met her and found her “quirky and joyous” and thus wondered what was wrong with her.
“And so I think it just took a little bit of time for my cast members to get over that,” she elaborated. “And we spent so much time… fighting. They didn’t get a chance to get to know me. And that’s unfortunate for them.”
As far as the show goes, Stacey also revealed who she feels is most like they are on-screen in real life and who isn’t.
“Gizelle Bryant is exactly who she is on-camera,” she said. “You get what you get, 24/7, lights on or lights off, cameras up or cameras down. Gizelle is just going to be Gizelle. In terms of someone who is completely different, that depends. Someone who’s a little wishy-washy, depending on if the cameras are up, that would definitely be messy Ashley Darby. You never know what you’re going to get with her.”
She also shared who she believes to be the true villain of the Real Housewives of Potomac.
“Every show needs a villain. And some people are just organically made to fill that role. And we all know who we’re talking about: Gizelle,” stated Stacey.
This isn’t the first time Stacey has gone at Gizelle, as she slammed her back in January after Gizelle made comments about Stacey reconciling with her husband, Thiemo Rusch.
“I am in a relationship where I feel safe, supported, and deeply loved. And I don’t think Gizelle recognizes that,” Stacey said after.
She also called Gizelle out for being a “liar.”
