Kyle Busch’s cause of death has been revealed.
As we previously reported, the NASCAR legend died at 41 on Thursday following a sudden hospitalization. Audio from a 911 call revealed that Kyle collapsed during a racing simulator in North Carolina at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and he had been experiencing “shortness of breath,” feeling “very hot” and like he may pass out, and “coughing up some blood.” How scary. The race car driver was conscious at the time. However, he sadly passed away the following day. Now we know exactly what happened to him.

According to the Associated Press, Dakota Hunter, the vice president of Kyle Busch Companies, announced the family received a medical evaluation on Saturday, which revealed Kyle “died after severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications.”
How devastating!!!
Kyle reportedly had been battling a sinus cold while racing in the NASCAR Cup Series in Watkins Glen, New York, on May 10, which worsened due to the intense G-force and elevation on the track. At one point, he even radioed in to his team and asked for a doctor to give him a “shot” after the race. Despite the illness, Kyle continued to compete. He won a Truck Series race on May 15 and raced in the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 17 — four days before his death.
Our hearts break for the family. We continue to keep them in our thoughts as they process this loss. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
