Unbeaten Sporting Lagos are highly favoured to emerge overall champions of the 2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season as the Super 4 competition comes to an end today, May 8, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
After winning their opening two matches, Sporting Lagos need only a point in today’s clash with city rivals Inter Lagos to win the coveted trophy and N10m prize money.
It will be recalled that the Lagos-based side defeated Ranchers Bees 1-0 in the opening match before overpowering Doma United 4-0 to move to six points.

Doma United fell from their opening 1-0 win over Inter Lagos to a crushing 0-4 defeat to the rampant Sporting Lagos in the second match, leaving them with three points from two matches.
Inter Lagos are also on three points after beating Ranchers Bees 1-0 in their second match. Ranchers Bees remain bottom of the standings without a point after narrow defeats to Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos.
Today’s decisive Matchday three fixtures are expected to determine the overall winners of the 2026 NNL Super Four title.
Sporting Lagos will lock horns with Inter Lagos while northerners Ranchers Bees and Doma United square up in the other match.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, will present the trophy to the victorious team.
The final day is also expected to deliver both football excitement and top-class entertainment as popular music star Habeeb “Portable” Olalomi and others are billed to perform live during the closing ceremony.
The Ogun State-born afrobeat star is set to bring his signature high-energy set, viral dance moves, and hit songs as the NNL organisers crown the 2025/2026 champion in Ikenne.
The 2026 NNL Super Four has already attracted notable personalities in Nigerian sports and business circles.
Monday’s opening day of the Super 4 tournament witnessed the presence of former Minister of Youth and Sports Development and current Presidential Spokesperson, Sunday Dare, Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Eric Chelle, and proprietor of Remo Stars, Kunle Soname,among other dignitaries at the Remo Stars Stadium.
