He was diagnosed with a rare endocrine disorder called acromegaly, which is caused by an excess of growth hormone in the body.

“I need help for an operation because the doctors said that the growth is on my head, so I need an operation to stop it,” Samed cried in a Citi TV report.
The young man went on to say that he also suffered from chronic pain in the spinal cord, due to his rare height.
In addition to health problems related to the height, Samed complained about how he had to use at least 14 meters of material to sew one piece of cloth for himself and it also had financial implications for him.
He spoke about how his mobile money business which was a source of income for him collapsed due to financial pressure.
“A double-sized bed and a student bed have been combined to provide comfort, even if they have to sleep diagonally.

According to him, the team in the north of Ghana informed them about the condition of the youth after reports about his condition.
“He called me that Awuche has a problem and the problem is getting worse. So I quickly called Kelvin, the foundation team and Carlos to visit him and see what we can do for him,” told JoyNews.

Awuche is undergoing a series of ultrasound scans at Blue Valley Specialist Medical Center thanks to the McDan Foundation.
“Dr. Bulley is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the world and we have him here in Ghana. I took Awuche to the best doctor to see how he was doing. It is expensive to use a doctor like Dr. Bulley but the results are expected” McDan said.
Last year, a BBC reporter measured Samed and found him to be 7ft 4in. Hopefully with the help that has come, the youngster can be treated so he can enjoy life.
