Newcastle United scout Ghanaian teenager Prince Amoako Junior
Newcastle United sent scouts to Denmark over the weekend to watch Ghanaian teenager Prince Amoako Junior, who scored his seventh league goal of the season in FC Nordsjælland’s 2-1 victory over Viborg FF.
The 19-year-old winger has been in mesmerising form this term, registering 12 goal contributions in 26 league games.
His latest strike came after 32 minutes, a smart finish that restored parity for his side before a late winner sealed the three points. Scouts from Bundesliga side Freiburg were also in attendance, closely monitoring the highly rated youngster.
Newcastle have struggled for consistency in the Premier League, losing their last four games across all competitions and currently sitting 14th with 42 points from 33 matches.
With Anthony Gordon heavily linked with a summer exit, Anthony Elanga struggling for form, and Harvey Barnes inconsistent, Amoako is viewed as a potential addition to bolster the Magpies’ attack.
The Ghanaian teenager continues to attract interest from top European clubs, and his performances in Denmark suggest a summer move could be on the horizon.
