Jordi Osei-Tutu shines with assist in big Bolton win over Stevenage
English-Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu set the tone for a dominant Bolton Wanderers display, providing a fine assist in their emphatic 5â1 victory over Stevenage at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Osei-Tutu raided forward down the right in the 13th minute before picking out Amario Cozier-Duberry, who coolly finished to make it 1â0 and put Bolton in control early on.
From there, Bolton never looked back. Johnny Kenny doubled the lead on 30 minutes, and Cozier-Duberry struck again four minutes after the restart, this time from a Sam Dalby pass, to stretch the advantage to 3â0. Stevenage briefly threatened a comeback when Dan Kemp pulled one back in the 64th minute, but the hosts responded ruthlessly.
Ruben Rodrigues restored the three-goal cushion with a smart finish in the 67th minute, before substitute Mason Burstow rounded off the scoring nine minutes from time. Bolton’s attacking fluidity, backed by Osei-Tutu’s energy and quality on the flank, proved far too much for the visitors as they strengthened their League One promotion push.
Steven Schumacher’s side will now look to back up this performance when they host Huddersfield Town in their next league outing on Saturday, April 18.
