President Joe Biden laughed on Tuesday when he raised Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — but instead of cracking down on conspiracy-theorizing lawmakers, Biden let his fingers do the talking.
Speaking at an event in Virginia Beach, the president asked the audience if they remembered his howling during the State of the Union address, when he repeatedly interrupted him with shouts of “lies!”
Biden resisted the temptation to attack with his own barb and make the sign of the cross.
“I’ll be fine,” he said, as the audience laughed:
Biden, a devout Catholic, occasionally uses the sign of the cross as a joke. The gesture has several meanings, including blessing and protection from evil.
