Long before Brooklyn Beckham unleashed on Victoria and David on social media, a lawsuit brought by his and Nicola Peltz‘s former wedding planners exposed jaw-dropping details about the family feud!
If you don’t know, Nicola’s father, Nelson Peltz, filed a lawsuit against Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba of Plan Design Events (PDE) in December 2022 — months after the wedding. The billionaire claimed he hired the pair just six weeks before the Florida nuptials in April 2022, but they were fired after nine days. Despite that, they refused to return a $159,000 deposit. Nelson claimed the planners offered “no service of value” and “justifiably” wanted a refund.

In response, Braghin and Grijalba sued for breach of contract — and dropped some tea about the feud between Nicola and Victoria in the documents! You likely already know about the drama surrounding the wedding. But just in case, here’s a refresher. Brooklyn claimed in his bombshell posts this month that Victoria and David tried to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola and tried to sabotage their wedding, starting with the actress’s dress. Posh was supposed to make her wedding gown, but the 26-year-old hot sauce entrepreneur alleged his mom “cancelled” making it “in the eleventh hour.”
Well, it sounds like Victoria wasn’t the only one being difficult before the big day! In the lawsuit, Braghin and Grijalba claimed the Beckham family had their guest list “fully organized with all contact information fully revised and nearly ready to go.” The Peltz family, though? They allegedly were NOT on top of things! The planners claimed their guest list was incomplete and missing addresses, adding:
“Nicola continued sending text messages in a [group chat] adding and removing certain guests — making the task of creating a comprehensive and complete guest list a moving target.”
Throughout all the chaos, Nicola and her mom, Claudia Peltz, didn’t want Victoria to know about anything going on with the planning! The lawsuit continued:
“Both Claudia and Nicola had insisted that Victoria Beckham could not know about any internal mistakes regarding the ongoing planning of her son’s wedding, including any errors with the guest list.”
Was Posh even part of any of the planning beyond the guest list? That is what we want to know!
Braghin and Grijalba went on to say Nelson — whom they called a “billionaire bully” — became so frustrated that he threatened to “cancel the wedding.” Whoa! They claimed he even called the whole thing a “s**t show!” It sounds like the wedding planning was an absolute nightmare! Ultimately, his wife refused to let him call off the ceremony. The suit stated:
“Claudia begged Nelson not to cancel the wedding because it would ‘destroy Nicola’s career.’”
Wow! The wedding came close to being cancelled by Nelson! If that had happened, we bet the Beckhams would have been happy! That is, if Brooklyn’s allegations about his family are true! FYI, the legal battle is already over. Both lawsuits were dismissed with prejudice in September 2023. Grijalba and Braghin told People in a statement at the time:
“The parties believe that this contract dispute between Nelson Peltz and Plan Design should be resolved on the terms agreed. As part of the settlement, PDE will make a donation in the name of Nicola and Brooklyn to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund. PDE wishes Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham happiness and a fruitful life together.”
The suit resurfaced again due to Brooklyn’s scathing posts this month, right? We’ve heard a lot since then that the relationship between the Peltz and Beckham families soured around the time of the wedding. One may think it’s because of the wedding dress debacle and both sets of parents’ alleged behavior during the celebration. We cannot help but wonder, however, if things really took a turn because the Peltzes kept Victoria and her family in the dark about the wedding planning issues! Perhaps they didn’t like to be blindsided by all this! And perhaps they later weren’t too thrilled about the suit possibly harming the “Beckham brand!” Hmm. It’s just something to consider…
