Steve Martin & Martin Short Take A Moment During Comedy Show To Honor The ‘Sweetest Angel’ Catherine O’Hara

Steve Martin and Martin Short shared a toast in memory of Catherine O’Hara.

Hours after news broke that the 71-year-old actress passed away on Friday, the Only Murders in the Building co-stars took to the stage for their “The Best of Steve Martin and Martin Short” comedy show in Austin, Texas. They took a moment to put up a picture of Catherine and raise a glass to her during the set. Martin even spoke a few kind words about the Home Alone star, saying:

“Catherine O’Hara, I met when she was 18 years of age. And all these years later, she had been the greatest, most brilliant, kindest, sweetest angel that any of us worked with. God bless, Catherine.”

Steve worked with Catherine on the 1984 sketch comedy show The New Show and the 1994 movie A Simple Twist of Fate. She and Martin have been longtime collaborators. It started all the way back in the ’70s when they worked at Toronto’s Second City improv theater. They later performed on SCTV together. Catherine and Martin also co-starred in the animated films The Addams Family and Frankenweenie.
