Inter Milan secured an important victory in their Champions League last 16 tie against Porto, with substitute Romelu Lukaku scoring the only goal of the game.

The Belgian striker found the back of the net in the 86th minute, converting the rebound after his initial effort hit the post at the San Siro stadium.

Earlier in the match, Porto had good chances to take the lead, but Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana made two excellent saves to deny Zaidu Sanusi and Mehdi Taremi.

The match changed in the 78th minute when Otavio received his second yellow card and was sent off, leaving the visitors with 10 men for the rest of the match.

Inter capitalized on their numerical advantage and managed to break the deadlock just eight minutes after Otavio’s dismissal, with Lukaku scoring the all-important goal.

The result gives the top Italian side into the second leg, which will take place at Porto’s Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday, March 14.
