Former Trade and Industry Minister Hon Alan Kyerematen joined the world in paying tribute to the memory of the late Ghanaian international player Christian Atsu as he embarked on a tour of Oti region last Sunday.
Hon Kyerematen joined the Dambai Traditional Leaders to observe for a few minutes before offering kind words to the former Ghana international during a courtesy visit to the Chiefs and people at the Dambai Palace at the start of the tour.
At the start of his speech, the savvy statesman asked the gathering to observe a minute’s silence for the late Black Star player, Christian Atsu.
He described the former Chelsea, Newcastle United and Bournemouth player as a national asset and ambassador for the country.
Hon Kyerematen said Atsu was a team player and called on all Ghanaians to emulate the imprints of the late Hatayaspor moving forward.
Atsu was among those killed in the recent earthquakes that devastated Turkey and Syria last week, killing around 46,000 people in both countries.
Recounting some of the government’s achievements in the region, Hon Kyerematen mentioned the flagship project 1D1F, which he championed in efforts to create jobs for the youth.
The Presidential Candidate calls on the public to give maximum support to the president’s ambitions because he has a record of creating jobs and ensuring the welfare of the people.
He talked about the initiatives 22 years ago under President JA Kufuor on garments, oil palm plantations, salt industry.
The large participation in the short program confirmed its acceptance in Oti region.
