This past week marked two years since the Prince of Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had officially stepped down as members of the royal family.
“Royal work” may sound like an oxymoron, but it’s a term used to describe members of the Windsor clan who appear at royal engagements to toss coins at farmers, or whatever.
Harry and Meghan’s decision to step away from their lives has been criticized by critics who say the couple want all the perks of royal life without the “work”.
Don’t worry the Sussexes are actually in a more difficult situation, so they have to make money.

While Harry and Meghan kept their promise to support themselves without help from the Crown (the institution, not the Netflix show), they were also criticized.
And of course, when Harry published his memoirs in hopes of explaining the couple’s reasoning behind their decision, the same haters were outraged because they thought the two were just starving for attention.
Some of these trolls are right read book, of course, which means they missed important revelations, such as the fact that King Charles never wanted Meghan to take the role of the royal family in the first place.

In one broad passage allegedly from spareCharles told Harry that Meghan should continue to act, as there is no place for her on the royal payroll.
“Does he want to keep working?” Prince Harry remembers Charles asking.
“Does he want to continue acting?” asked the future emperor.
“Oh. I mean, I don’t know. I wouldn’t think so. I’m hoping he’ll want to be with me, do a job, you know, that’ll take him out Suit… since filming in… Toronto,” Harry replied.

“Hmm. I see. Well, boy, you know there’s not enough money to go around,” Harry quoted Charles as saying.
“What did he say? He explained. Or try,” Harry continued.
“‘I can’t afford anyone else,'” Charles said. “‘I have to pay for my sister and Catherine.'”
Of course, there are no reports of Charles having the same doubts about Kate Middleton, so this anecdote is taken as evidence that the King did not like Meghan from the beginning.

There are several theories for that why he was immediately disdainful of his future son-in-law, and of course they were all right.
Today, Charles is reportedly warming to Meghan, and an insider says he is eager to join the Sussexes at the coronation in May.
But Harry and Meg might not mind the idea.

“Harry has been very clear and his position is unwavering – he wouldn’t have come if he felt the atmosphere was toxic like it was during the Platinum Jubilee and the Queen’s funeral,” said a source close to the situation. Mirror.
“He said he wanted to reconcile with his family and was on the phone, but so far nothing has changed.”
It is possible that upon receiving Charles’ invitation, Harry and Meghan will have to reply that they cannot attend because they are too busy.
