The Director General, Development Agenda Commission of Western Nigeria (DAWN), Seye Oyeleye, has called on South West voters to focus on the security and sustainability of the region as they go to the polls on Monday to elect a new president.
Oyeleye stated, yesterday: “As Nigerians go to the polls on Saturday, the DAWN Commission is calling on the people of Western Nigeria to focus on the security and sustainability of the region as a united unit and strengthen its uniqueness as a welcoming, tolerant and law-abiding place, where people live together the peace and well-being of all citizens, regardless of ethnic origin and language, is paramount.”
According to him, the commission is aligned with the Southern governors and 11 governors from the North for the southern successor of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Since making the declaration, the position has gained the support of the majority and consensual popularity. The commission, as an institution focused on development, is ready to support initiatives that promote the development of our space. Therefore, it supports the position of the governor to move power to the South, as a necessity to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy and create political stability, without any development.
The DAWN Commission also reminded voters, especially from the South West, to vote in a manner that ensures stability and peace, to ensure the continuity of various strategic economic development projects in the region.
