Gavin Newsom Offers Theory On What Happened To His Ex-Wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) suggested his ex-wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle, is now a right-wing figure because she “preys” culture on Fox News.

Newsom was asked about his first marriage during a recent interview on CNN’s “The Ax Files” podcast with David Axelrod.

“He was a different person,” Newsom said of Guilfoyle, who he was married to from 2001 to 2006. Guilfoyle worked as a prosecutor in San Francisco during the marriage.

Newsom suggested Guilfoyle’s ambition and pride influenced the way he responded to his environment at Fox News, where he worked from 2006 to 2018.

“He is a smart whip, and he fell prey, I think, to the culture at Fox in a deep way,” he said. “He didn’t agree with that assessment. He might have suggested that he found the lamp.

Asked if she had been invited to Guilfoyle’s party with Donald Trump Jr., she replied, “Yes, I’m very busy.”

Guilfoyle and Newsom remarried. Newsom has been married to Jennifer Siebel Newsom since 2008; Guilfoyle married businessman Eric Villency in 2006 and divorced in 2009. She is engaged to the son of former President Donald Trump in 2020.

During his 12 years at Fox News, Guilfoyle hosted “The Lineup,” “The Five” and “Outnumbered.” He began working for Trump’s super PAC in 2018, the same year it was revealed he had ties to Trump Jr. During Trump’s presidency, he was one of his advisers.

Last year, he was subpoenaed by a House panel investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on his role in the uprising at the US Capitol. He was one of the speakers at the rally before the riot and is said to have been heavily involved in the planning of the event.
