Kudus scored to lead Ajax to the next round of the Dutch Cup

Once again, Kudus proved to be the difference, scoring the decisive goal in the second half that gave Ajax a 1-0 win over FC Twente in the last 16 of the Dutch Cup on Thursday.

In a close match at De Grolsch Veste, Kudus found the back of the net in the 70th minute, delivering the decisive blow for Ajax. The Ghana international has been in top form this season, scoring a total of 13 goals – four in the Champions League and seven in the Dutch Eredivisie.

At the beginning of the season, Kudus had difficulties with manager Alfred Schreuder, who was fired in January. Kudus is about to leave the club. He had agreed to join Everton, but Ajax blocked the transfer.

Despite the challenge, Kudus fought to earn a place in Schreuder’s line-up and scored 10 goals before the World Cup in Qatar, where he scored twice for Ghana in an unsuccessful campaign.

Since Schreuder’s departure, Kudus has been instrumental in the team’s success, participating in two goals in the past two games. He provided an excellent assist in the 5-0 league win over Cambuur last Sunday.

Ajax is now led by interim coach John Heitinga, and under his guidance, Kudus has recovered. This is not the first time Kudus has played for Heitinga, as the two previously worked together when Kudus was at Jong Ajax, where he scored five goals in five matches.

Since Heitinga’s appointment as Ajax’s interim coach, Kudus has been a standout performer, earning the Man of the Match award twice in three games. This revival is a testament to Heitinga’s ability to produce the best players and the strong relationship between the coach and Kudus.
