Rep. Dan Goldman (DN.Y.) questioned Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) about claims that “dozens” of whistleblowers had come to his office before a meeting of the Committee on Weaponization of the Federal Government on Thursday. (You can watch clips of both below).
Jordan chairman of the committee that has been dubbed “tin foil hat committee” by Rep. Pete Aguila, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus.
Goldman, in a tense exchange with Jordan, grilled Republicans on the claims and asked whether information – and testimony – from whistleblowers had not been made available to Democrats on the committee.
Jordan, in response, said the information from the whistleblower will be available to Democrats “when they testify,” but Goldman was not having it.
“You don’t have a transcription of the interview?” asked Goldman, who is the lead counsel for the House manager in Donald Trump’s first impeachment inquiry. He won a House seat in November.
“We have the first one, and there are dozens that have come and talked to our office,” replied Jordan, who added that there will be interviews next week.
“You just said tens. Do you have a record of that? Or did you just talk to your staff?” Goldman then asked.
Jordan assured Goldman that he and everyone else on the committee would have access to the whistleblower interview transcripts.
Goldman, however, circled back to bring up Jordan’s claim about the dozen said the office spoke for.
People in the committee room said that Rep. David Cicilline (DR.I.) was there to interview the first whistleblower, Mediaite reported.
