Suame NDC youth organizer was motivated by Mahama’s ‘nobody can beat us in unleashing violence’ comment – Bempah

Mr. Bempah’s comments came after the Ghana Police Service announced that it had arrested Razak Avoliya following an investigation into a viral video that fueled political violence ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The suspect is in Police custody and will be produced in court for trial.

Mr. Bempah told reporters in Accra on Wednesday, February 8, “Mahama is the one who incites him and the youth to resort to violence. We all remember his comments that the NDC has revolutionary roots and when it comes to violence, no one can defeat him by unleashing violence.”

“He is responsible for the young man’s reckless statement. He has met them because when you listen to the man’s statement, he says that his boss asked him to say it.

He added, “Mahama’s action of attacking the judiciary and Asiedu Nketia making false claims about the results of the election when he did not get the results all led to his actions. This is all Mahama’s plan, he knows he cannot win the 2024 election and the only way he can do it is inciting his people to commit violence.

“Ghanaians will reject a leader who does not have national interests and will resort to violence. In 2012 when they rigged the election, no one attacked the NDC and the judiciary, you did not see any NPP members going to attack anyone, we accepted it in faith.

“Mahama so far after the 2020 election petition the Supreme Court decision has not come out to accept defeat. He is a dangerous and evil person who should not be allowed to come to power. We have picked intelligence that he is harassing his members to provoke violence. We are asking the Police service to act urgently to deal with this because if they start like this, NPP youths will also retaliate and protect themselves.

NPP Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah also called on the NDC to expel Suame youth organizers for their actions.

Addressing a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, February 8, NPP Director of Communications Richard Ahiagbah said, “We call on the NDC to disallow, remove and expel youths from the party without delay.

“This is the only point that the NDC can take seriously and show that they are not protecting them and disparaging these comments in our politics. Nothing less than this will suffice.
