Lane, party of four! Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell Lane opened up Us Weekly about their sons, Dutton and Baker, and how they are adjusting to life as parents of two children.
“It’s all chaotic,” the former Scholar contestant, 33, specially told us in an interview together with his wife, 38, when promoting a partnership with Hill’s Nutrition. “But it’s fun. It is definitely one of those things that I am sure one day we will see again and it will be very quiet in our house. So I try not to take it for granted or want to pass the time, but it can be a bit stressful.
The couple, who married in 2019, welcomed Dutton in June 2021. They gave birth to son Baker in October 2022.
“I have one of those lists running as many women on the phone do about baby names. Baker is on it. I don’t know. I don’t know anyone else named Baker Baker Mayfield” said Bushnell Lane us the inspiration behind the second child’s moniker.
Lane noted that “everyone literally thought we were naming our son” after an NFL quarterback — but that wasn’t the case.
“I’m a big Carolina Panthers fan. And I was like ‘No, we named our son Baker long before he decided to go to Carolina last year.’ I got so much,” the country singer said.
Bushnell Lane added that people are “waiting for the second name [kid] after other characters in Yellowstone“but he didn’t vote.
In addition to their two sons, the couple have two dogs, Cooper and Chloe, and joined Hill’s Nutrition after Chloe struggled with her weight.
“We really don’t know [before the vet told us]. I mean, we know he likes food, he’s always a food-motivated dog, but he suggested that he was a little overweight,” Bushnell Lane explained. “We didn’t want to deprive him. We do not want to treat our dog differently, for example, give Cooper food and then cut it back [with Chloe] and let him starve or something. Like many pet parents out there, [one of the ways] we show our dogs love is food.
He continued: “[Now] we feed our dogs the same weight management food. Both are there. Cooper – who doesn’t have to lose weight, he’s on a different spectrum where he prefers to eat food – he loves food. [too] and we know they are getting the nutrition they need. He’s been eating for two days and he’s really eating and finishing, which is huge for us. And then Chloe, we found out that she can still eat and like food – very happy. [and we] still need to know how slowly he goes down – but we are not depriving him.
