Police warn mischief makers | The Guardian Nigeria News

The Lagos State Police Command says it has uncovered plans by some groups of people to take advantage of the shortage of new naira notes to unleash violence in some parts of the state.

The command warned the group to refrain from any planned violence or have the weight of law to do so.

The warning was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos Command, Benjamin Hundeyin.

It read, ‘Residents and visitors to Lagos State are urged not to panic as the Police, together with other security agencies, have commenced confidence building patrols in Lagos metropolis.

“Meanwhile, all law abiding Lagosians are advised to carry out their legitimate duties without fear of harassment or intimidation as the Command has ensured optimal deployment of human resources and operations to ensure safety and security.”
