Idris Elba set to shoot film in Ghana

This will be the second time the actor is filming a movie in Ghana since 2015 after shooting Beast of no nation.

In his visit to the jubilee home, he assured the president that he would help boost Ghana’s film industry, in honor of setting up a film school and setting the country’s film policy.

According to Idris Elba, a vibrant and powerful film industry starts at the policy level. He noted that countries like South Africa, Europe, Greece, and Morocco have invested in the policy because they understand the value of the film industry in dollars.

“The National Film Authority has done the work. It has a comprehensive plan to bring Ghana forward. It needs to be strong. It needs to be competitive. We believe, and I know you believe in the legacy we want to leave, that Ghana must move forward to attract these filmmakers .

“What I want is that I have a movie that I’m directing, and I hope to bring the movie, or at least some of it, to shoot in Ghana. The movie will be in December. We start pre-production in August. Some movies, in two or three weeks, will be in Ghana in December.

Concluding that this initiative will showcase Ghana as a business haven.
