
The criticism is behind Ghana’s 72nd ranking in the 2022 edition of the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report published on Tuesday, January 31.
Ghana is still sitting behind without progress in the CPI score for three consecutive years now, after details showed that the country scored 43 out of 100 per Transparency International (TI) score.
Because of this, Mr. Kpebu believes that President Akufo-Addo has no intention of curbing corruption as indicated by the CPI score.
Speaking on Newfile on Joy TV, Mr. Kpebu recounted the 18 promises made by His Highness, as a reminder that Ghanaians should not forget.
“Let me tell you some important things that Akufo-Addo said, which he is not doing now, and he thinks we have forgotten. He needs a reminder that this thing has to stop,”

5. I am not corrupt, and I will not be corrupt,
6. I can develop Ghana without borrowing money from anywhere; money here,

10. I will make the Korle lagoon and the ɔdå river tourist attractions,

The most talked about guarantee made to citizens is, “We will not go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bail-out.”
In addition, he asked the President to enact a law of Parliament that ensures that government appointees account for their wealth before leaving office.
