Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence Talks Marissa Mowry Marriage

When you know, you know! Trevor Lawrence is married to Marissa Mowry for almost two years, but the relationship is way back.

“We met in fifth grade, so I wouldn’t say we know each other [she was The One] in fifth grade,” Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, 23, exclusively told Us Weekly on February 3, while promoting the partnership with Tostitos. “We started dating seriously in the 10th grade. And then we were, like everyone else, kind [were] for a while, then when he got to college, he became very serious.”

As Lawrence and Mowry, 23, continued their relationship while studying at Clemson University and Anderson University, respectively, the NFL star became “pretty confident” that marriage was in their future.

“That’s what I want and they feel the same way,” Lawrence said us on Friday. “That’s why we got married young and we’re so happy. It’s nice to have someone with you through all the different things we’ve been through. It’s been cool. I’ve known him for a long time… [and] we have seen the best and worst in each other and it has been fun. It’s really amazing just to, like, get to know more and more. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Lawrence and the event planner then married in April 2021 – and their romance began to heat up.

“We’re trying to do some version of a date night, whether it’s going out or ordering and just hanging out and having a glass of wine or whatever just to try to spend that time together,” the Georgia native said Friday, joking. that should “probably” up the number before the grand gesture that did for Mowry. “Because during the week it gets busy and, especially, when we have family coming to town on the weekend and it’s even busier. We’ve gotten better and better about making time, making sure we have time together and really prioritizing.

While the newlyweds are basking in the bliss of marriage, Lawrence is tempted to us that they “definitely” hope to have children “one day.”

“I don’t know when that was. I think we will wait for a while,” said the professional footballer. “We are really happy not to have the responsibility of having children [right now]. … I won’t say near winter, but in winter. So, probably in the next few years. We just have fun wherever we are and we want to travel and be able to do everything before we settle down.

In the meantime, Lawrence is getting ready for Super Bowl LVII and watching the big game with Mowry and friends.

“I will be in Arizona and I will watch the game with Christian Kirk and her fiancé, [Ozzy Ozkan]and my wife,” the quarterback said us, referring to the Arizona Cardinals athletes. “So we’ll all be together. So whatever’s at home, I hope [get] some [my favorite snacks, including Buffalo chicken dip and nachos]. I have to tell them.”

Lawrence, who admitted that he was rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs over the Philadelphia Eagles “just because they beat us,” then revealed his favorite Super Bowl tradition. “Just get together with friends. I think it’s the best,” he said. “The game really focuses on food and hanging out and the better the food, the better the experience.

Lawrence has also teamed up with Tostitos, the official chip and dip of the NFL, to help one lucky fan throw the ultimate game day bash. Participants can enter the Toast by Tostitos raffle through February 8 for a chance to score a shipment of chips, dips and ingredients needed to recreate dishes hand-selected by Lawrence.

In addition, Tost by Tostitos will host a pop-up restaurant outside State Farm Stadium in Arizona during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 12.

“They basically use chips and snacks as different items to create a food menu where you can order a full meal with that item, not just chips and dips and all that,” explained Lawrence. “So it’s going to be really cool. I’m excited to try everything when I get out there!”
