The Minister of Leadership and Religious Affairs, Ebenezer Kojo Kum has resigned.

A statement from the presidency signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, although unable to state the reason for the resignation said “The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has accepted his resignation from office, with immediate effect.”

This is after Kojo Kum who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) Ahanta West sent a letter of resignation to the President
Friday, February 3, 2023.

President Akufo-Addo thanked him for his service to the Government and the country, and wished him every success in the future.

It is believed that the Minister’s decision to resign was due to his ill health, due to a stroke he suffered last year.

However, he recovered until the retired minister conducted a thanksgiving service last week.

The President has since asked the Minister of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) Okere, to act as a temporary Minister in the Ministry of Leadership and Religious Affairs, pending a substantive change. made.
