Before this week, most Teen Mom fans had probably never heard of Catelynn Lowell’s sister, Sarah Haviland.
But today, Sarah is an unavoidable presence in the corners of the Teen Mom Internet.
On Monday, Sarah criticized Catelynn and MTV for their treatment of her mother, April.
Sarah said that Catelynn and the network that made her famous drove April to drink, and then delighted in falsely portraying her as an alcoholic for ratings.
Obviously, this is a pretty serious statement.
And for his next act, Haviland released allegations that may have damaged his sister’s personal life.
Rumors that Tyler Baltierra is a closeted homosexual have been around for years, and neither Tyler nor Catelynn seem particularly bothered by them.
But Sarah took it a step further by alleging that Tyler has a double life and divides his time between Catelynn and his secret boyfriend who lives in Arizona.
“Everybody’s saying Tyler’s gay and I swear he is. I swear Tyler’s gay,” Sarah said on a recent Instagram Live, according to British tabloid The Sun.
“And the only reason I can tell you is that they have friends in Arizona and they don’t want Catelynn to come to Arizona to see this guy,” Haviland said.
“And she’s on her Instagram talking about babies and bullshit, like commenting on her stuff.”
On Tyler’s Instagram page, a fan asked about the “secret man in Arizona” situation.
Soon after, Tyler responded with his own Instagram Live.
“Guys, what the fk,” he said with a laugh.
“You can’t make this sh-t up guys. You know what I’m saying?”
Baltierra concludes by suggesting that she expects nothing more from her difficult sister-in-law:
“Is this what he’s saying because I’m not watching him. I’m not paying attention to all that. Oh my God, man. I’m dying,” Tyler laughed.
In the comments on the post, fans were very supportive:
“Wow, it’s always good when someone shows their true colors. At least Catelynn and Tyler now know who they really are,” wrote one follower.
“With a brother like that who needs an enemy … kindness,” added another.
“The way she laughs and gets away with it #unbothered,” said a third.
“Tyler’s sexuality is nobody’s business. It’s sad that his brother is so bent,” said a fourth fan.
Needless to say, Sarah’s smear campaign got a lot of traction.
Say what you will about Tyler and Catelynn — they’ve never kept their secrets from the public, and Sarah will have a hard time convincing fans otherwise!
