SEC with seven top-10 teams in NCBWA poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (January 31, 2023)—–Seven Southeastern Conference baseball teams are ranked in the top 10 in the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason Poll released Tuesday. Six SEC programs are ranked in the top seven, including preseason No. 1 LSU.

Tennessee is ranked No. 2, while Florida is No. 4, Texas A & M No. 5, Arkansas No. 6, Ole Miss No. 7 and Vanderbilt No. 9. Alabama is ranked No. 25.

LSU ranked No. 1 in all five major polls released so far. Auburn, Mississippi State and South Carolina are in at least one of the other polls.

The 2023 college baseball season begins the weekend of Feb. 17. The SEC led all conferences with five teams in the NCAA Super Regionals and four teams in the College World Series last season, when Ole Miss won its third consecutive SEC national title.
