The principle works in all areas of life. Starting today. Identify core areas of strength and competence. Be creative and find ways to add value to everyone around you.

One of the principles I learned very early in life is: I should never be a responsibility or a burden to people, especially for strategic relationships. And this is a mistake that many people make. Even when there is no problem for us to solve for some big people, we deliberately make statements of the problem of the situation is not very obvious, and give people a solution to that problem. So that they will always see us as relevant to their lives. The parents of God whom I used to serve told me, “it will be difficult for the people of God to rescue you”. I laughed. I understand he is perfect. It’s a principle. When I’m with him, it’s always about how to help him solve problems, even if it’s my own. He barely looked at my phone and didn’t pick. You must intentionally create value.

Value is driven by assets more than liabilities. The same principle applies in marriage. When a man or woman turns themselves into a burden to others, their value decreases. I don’t call people more than twice. After I call and you don’t pick, then don’t call again, then I will know that my price is not up with that person. I will not call again.

I met two lovely people on Facebook, who now work remotely for our ministry, and are on our payroll. How did it happen? They all use the same strategy; smart man strategy: Sir, I can help you develop an application that will send messages to more than fifty countries. Who doesn’t like it? And that’s it, I drafted him.

When I visit strategic people, I don’t talk nonsense. I did not ask for help from them. I didn’t ask for water. I will not ask for money. I tell you what I can do to boost my ministry or business or profile. And time and time again, these principles give us access to important people and information. He would just open his heart and start giving me information and ideas. Instead of working hard and sweating after people, be a problem solver. Build value. Make yourself indispensable. A few years ago, I met a key father in the body of Christ in Nigeria. As expected, I went there with a gift bag and a serious financial reward just to honor him for his work and sacrifice for us. I have never asked him for a favor or anything. When I met him, I made a strategy: Sir, I can help you expand your ministry in this area. He looked at me and replied, “I don’t want to expand our ministry now”. I said, yes sir.

I said to myself, maybe father doesn’t understand my value in this area. Why would he say that? I have the grace to do this for him. Well, I left his office. Then, about a year later, I went to see him again, and brought another gift, but this time, I took some of my books. He stood up to receive me and I bowed as a rightly ordained Yoruba man. I didn’t say anything. I just gave him my book. He couldn’t believe it. He opened it and started reading the first one. After two pages, he stopped and asked, “What about this thing are you going to do to expand our ministry?” I replied, “Dad, but you said that you are not interested in my proposal”. Then it turned into a gentle father-son argument, “When did I tell you I wasn’t interested?”, he replied. wow! What has changed? My grades have gone up. And there, they gave him a mandate to do the work for him.

God sent me to people today. No, you are not empty. There is something you can do to build value for others. Stop advertising your problem. Start a brand and advertise your value. When you meet someone important, don’t bombard them with needs. It will drop your values ​​and will run away from you. They don’t pick up the phone because they don’t see your value.
