Brian Culberson and his family, including his wife Ryan Culberson and their four children, sons Troy, 10, Owen, 8, Hank, 2, and 21-month-old daughter Cora Rose, have stopped following the ketogenic “keto” diet.
After following a low-carb, high-fat regimen for years, Briana, who previously appeared with her mother, Vicki Gunvalson at Real Housewives of Orange Countytook to her Instagram page to explain her decision, revealing that she was asked to make changes to the family’s eating habits because of one of her son’s medical conditions.
“We had to pivot from keto to a clean and whole food diet to help one of our sons with some new medical stuff. Our focus is nutrient-dense and clean food. Mostly animal-based,” Briana told her fans and followers on Instagram on January 11, along with a meme saying that “it’s pretty crazy that 90% of the food in the grocery store didn’t exist 100 years ago… and so did 90. % of the diseases.”
According to Briana, she stopped sharing many of her family’s meals, which include meat, eggs, fruit, raw dairy, organic rice, and some vegetables, on Instagram for the past few weeks because there were “too many repetitions.” And, while she’s gotten “weird criticism” about what she’s eaten before, she says she’s the “healthiest” she’s been since she was 16.
As RHOC fans will remember, Briana was diagnosed with lupus last year and has faced many health problems in the years since.
Fortunately, when it comes to his son’s health condition, he seems to be in good health.
“My son is on the mend,” Briana confirmed.
“Perfection is never the goal, it’s impossible. But deliberately choosing food is the most important thing,” he said. “We ordered pizza as a family last week, and all snuggled up on the couch and watched football. Then most of us had gut problems for days.
“It’s okay, it’s a process, and our focus is overall health. I will do anything for my 4 children to have a better and healthier life,” he added.
After reading her daughter’s post, Vicki responded with a supportive message.
“I’m proud of you!” long time RHOC cast members wrote. “Our health is the most important thing.”
Real Housewives of Orange County season 17 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in the coming months.
