South Africans can become multi-millionaires overnight if they play Powerball and Powerball Plus on Saturday, with the combined jackpot at R78 million upwards.
Saturday night’s jackpot is approximately R26 million for PowerBall and R52 million for PowerBall Plus.
“We wish all our players all the best for tonight’s PowerBall and PowerBall draw,” said Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza.
Mabuza said Lotto winnings are paid directly to the winner’s bank account, tax free.
“For winners who win R50 000 and above, we offer free trauma counseling from a professional psychologist, and financial advice from an accredited financial advisor,” he added.

New Lotto winner
2023 has seen two lucky Lotto winners.
Over R72 million was won in January this year by players in the Western Cape.
One man is R25 million richer after winning the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot.
He said that he will not tell anyone that he is a lotto millionaire and also that he will not stop working in the retail sector.
He plans to use the winnings to pay off debt and buy property.
Another winner this year was a domestic worker who only shared the news with her daughter.
He said he would use the money to buy a bigger house.
Where to buy tickets
Tickets can be purchased at participating stores or on the Lotto website.
