Haruna Iddrisu Breaks The Silence As It Is Deleted
Former Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has spoken for the first time since he was dragged out of office by what some members of the party described as a mafia gang.
The change in the leadership of the NDC in Parliament seems to have come as a surprise as this is the first time in the tenure of Parliament that a party has initiated a change in the front bench of its leader with negative vibes.
In a statement, Haruna Iddrisu, the outgoing Minority Leader has warned the public to beware of some fake Facebook accounts created in his name.
The Tamale South Member of Parliament said he was not an active social media participant, hence the account purporting to be in his name was fake.
The clarification follows a reshuffling of the Minority leadership in Parliament.
The NDC in a letter addressed to Haruna Iddrisu, the Tamale-South Member of Parliament who is the Minority leader has been replaced by Ato Forson.
James Klutse Avedzi, MP for Ketu-North has been replaced by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembele Constituency, while Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP for Adaklu Constituency replaces Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, MP for Asawase in Ashanti Region as Chief Whip .
Ahmed Ibrahim and Comfort Doyoe-Ghansah First and Second deputy Whips respectively retained their positions.
But some aggrieved youths from the NDC stormed the Tamale party office in Lamashegu to register their displeasure over the replacement of Haruna Iddrisu.
Many youths said the decision was not in the party’s interest and called on the National Executive to reverse it.
However, Haruna Iddrisu in a statement posted on the Facebook page of the Haruna Institute refuted the allegations.
For the record, she said that the Facebook and Twitter accounts are not hers and added that she has never owned a Facebook or Twitter account and has not caused the account to be opened and operated under her name.
He noted that any social media accounts that are under his name are fake.
He appealed to the general public, especially the rank and file of the NDC not to ignore the post with the contempt it deserves.
Creating an account and posts there is just an attempt by the detractors to sow the seeds of discontent in the party hierarchy and put them personally but it will fail and show that the truth will remain.
Meanwhile, some Members of Parliament have petitioned the party leaders about the recent changes in the front benches in the house.
Lawmakers believe that the reshuffling is premature and inappropriate for the NDC going into the 2024 general elections due to lack of consultation.
Member of Parliament for Zebilla and former Majority leader, Cletus Avoka said only decisions made after public deliberations would be accepted.
