2022 ended on a high, Lady Du toured England together with two prize winners, who had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the world, and experience performances for audiences that are very different from what the artist has used before.
The tour is another successful partnership with long-time sponsor Bulldog Gin.
When Lady Du packs to go on tour, whether at home, across the continent or across the ocean, she has a few essentials she packs, including her treasured Bulldog Gin. She said, “The important things are my performance clothes, my cell phone, my makeup and my hair (wig). These are all non-negotiable because the important thing is that I look good.
She always looks amazing and flawless. A successful performer and music and treasure ambassador for South Africa, Lady Du said her fellow travelers were the highlight of the trip and added: “Being able to perform in a different environment where I have new fans to meet. It’s great that know your music is embraced in different places/countries.

Educating foreign audiences about his music, about Amapiano, his roots and what genres are important to him. He said, “When I perform in different geographical locations, I try to focus on teaching music and try to make sure that (the audience) understands the message of my music.
Most of my music is a message to people, which allows me to adapt to different audiences because most of them can relate to the stories I tell.
He was also a bit nervous before going on stage in a foreign country. He said, “I’m just nervous when I’m performing for a crowd in another country who don’t know my music. Other than that, I’m not nervous. It’s a craft I’m passionate about where I’m constantly improving myself every day.

And in reflection, his career and his path to promotion speaks volumes. He first learned how to deejay at the age of ten and, later, when success slowly came, he worked in his father’s automotive workshop to earn an income and finance the development of his career.
He believes that an individual’s background should not hinder or give an advantage to the career of an aspiring artist, but only depends on yourself, and what you do to achieve your goals. He was quoted as saying: “Find your light. It starts with you.”
While the music industry has changed significantly over the past two decades, leaving the compact disc and other dinosaur technologies on the one hand, it has, along with it, changed the way music is marketed and consumed. The media, said Lady Du, also plays a positive and large role in the development of new artists.
He said, “I think we are at a point where we have removed some barriers. Thanks to social media we can market our music without additional public relations costs.
We can also have a successful career outside of radio (airplay). I think for future artists, we have created an easier way for them to enter the industry and have the opportunity to have a successful career without many of the obstacles that we have faced.
