Again, Jandor expresses worries over attacks on campaign train

Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), on Tuesday, again lamented the incessant attacks on his campaign train by political thugs.

Mr. Adediran expressed his concern at a meeting with the Council of High Priests at the Ketu Central Mosque in Kosofe Local Government Area during his campaign campaign in the council.

The candidate said that earlier his campaign train was attacked in the council by criminals. He said one member of the security team was stabbed.

He said similar situations have repeatedly occurred in various local government areas since he began his tour of 245 wards on October 19, 2022.

He added that some of his followers including journalists were also injured.

Mr. Adediran, who said that the campaign train has been attacked in Badagry and Agege and some other places, said the development will not dissuade people from rescuing the country from the ruling APC.

According to him, his determination to relieve the pain of the people of the country and bring fresh breath is unstoppable.

The PDP candidate also said his running mate, Funke Akindele, was kicked out of the Kosofe fruit market in the previous council.

He said the trend was not healthy for democracy in the country, stressing that he would not be deterred.

According to him, the desire to free the country from slavery and save it by allowing the wealth of the country to be used by all instead of the few required him to come to the race.

Commending the league of imams for having the courage to agree to honor the call for an interactive session with him, Mr. Adediran said some of them rejected the offer out of fear of the ruling party.

The candidate, who sought partnership with Islamic scholars, asked them to pray to God for him.

“What happened, we don’t want it anymore. It’s not good for democracy, but despite the attacks, we are still moving and still motivated to save our people.

“I know only God can give and take away. If God gives, no one can take away,” he said.

Responding, the leader of the league, Ismaheel Kajola, said that as a religious leader, he should give audience and prayers to all candidates who come to seek blessings.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Funke Akindele left the campaign after he was chased by hoodlums in the market, Mr. Adediran’s campaign train and convoy moved around some streets in the council.
