After scoring his first DStv Premiership goal of the season, Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus was proud of his team’s performance after beating Stellenbosch FC 4-1 at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

Erasmus scored Buccaneers’ third goal of the match, with the other scorers being Thabang Monare, Innocent Maela and Ndabayitethwa Ndlondlo.
The former SuperSport United and Sundowns striker praised the attitude shown by the players, even after scoring, as they looked hungry to score more goals against a Stellenbosch side that has been really poor this season.
“I think it’s a good performance. I’m happy to get the goal and contribute three points, it’s a good team performance, good attitude after the first goal. It’s a bit disappointing to admit it, but I think scoring four goals…you can’t ask for anything -what’s better,” said Erasmus.
The Pirates striker also expressed his gratitude to the Bucs supporters, and said as a team, they always appreciate the love they receive from the Spirit.
“We always appreciate the love they show on the field. They always push us to be the 12th man…we will give our best performance every day and enjoy the Happy People,” added Erasmus.
Meanwhile, Erasmus team-mate Thabang Monare believes the performance could have been better for Bucs, but said he was happy to win the game.
“It’s always good to win, especially when you play at home. And I think we can’t forget that there’s always room for improvement. I think we could have had a better game than we did, not taking anything away from the result. But I think we have to look at it that way as a team, there are always ways we can do better,” Monare said.
