Leeds were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Brentford in a raucous clash at Elland Road as neither side could get in on their contrasting Premier League bids.
Jesse Marsch’s Leeds side will be hoping to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three, while the Wasps missed the chance to break into the league’s coveted top six.
The stalemate will suit Brentford better as they have now reached the 30-point mark in record time (the fastest in top-flight history), while Leeds continue to sit above the relegation zone – one point ahead of Bournemouth in 18th.
Bees goalkeeper David Raya was tested by Rodrigo on several occasions and he also denied Wilfried Gnonto and Brenden Aaronson – with Leeds making five attempts on target to the visitors’ nil – but Brentford’s back line held firm.

Leeds turn their attention to the FA Cup next weekend, when they travel to one Accrington Stanley or Boreham Wood for the fourth round match on January 28.
Marsch’s team return to Premier League action with a trip to Nottingham Forestlife goes on Sky Sports on February 5, kick-off 2pm.
White then became the host Manchester United at Super Sunday the following weekend, with a match against relegation rivals Everton and Southampton stop that schedule for a month.
BrentfordElimination from the FA Cup means they have next weekend off. The Bees return to Premier League action with a home game Southampton on February 4, kick-off 3pm.
Thomas Frank’s team then had a London derby against them Arsenal and Crystal Palace later in the month, before traveling to Manchester United on February 26.
