Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley (R) called on the Republican Party to make a change and said Friday that she believes it’s time for a “new generation” to step in. (You can listen to Haley’s comments below.)
Haley said it’s time for “more leadership” in the party during an interview with Sean Hannity on Friday.
“Look, it’s time for a new generation, it’s time for more leadership, it’s time for the fact that we really start to take our country back,” Haley said.
“We cannot have another term of Joe Biden and we must also remember: We have lost the last seven of the eight popular votes for president. It is time for us to get Republicans there who can lead and can win the general election.
Haley has hinted at a presidential run, although she has not officially announced her intention to throw her hat into the ring.
Hannity then asked Haley, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under former President Donald Trump, how her policies differed from those of her former boss.
Haley said she had a “good” working relationship with Trump and added that she agreed with most of his policies while she was not aware of the differences in those policies to the Fox News host.
