Britney Spears has inspired many tabloid headlines this week.
Because apparently, the act of just going out to dinner is newsworthy when Britney is the one doing it.
Yes, Britney and her husband Sam Asghari went to a restaurant last week (Joey in Los Angeles, if you want to stake a place out in the hope of a repeat performance. Just kidding; don’t do it.), but the meal did. didn’t go according to plan.
Britney was forced to leave after so many fans wouldn’t stop recording her every move.
Strangely, the incident was reported by some media as Britney’s fault, and some said that Spears was acting in a “maniac” way.
Either way, Britney’s fans are the most invested – maybe a little overprotective, but it’s understandable given everything she’s done.
So it makes sense that they have been dissecting her every move in the week since the restaurant incident.
(Yes, there’s an irony in the fact that she was kicked out of the restaurant by a crowd of fans, and now her Instagram followers are usually giving her the same treatment, but we think her heart is in the right place.)
And much has been made of it because Britney has changed the name of her Instagram display from Channel 8 to Red River.
They announced the change with a photo of the surface of Mars.
“That’s bright…it’s so easy!!! Thank you, little friend, I found my ball…don’t underestimate the power of purity!!!” Spears captioned the photo, adding:
“look at everything…it’s liquid and wet…rolling and having mass!!! I changed my name to River Red!!!”
Fans were quick to embrace the change – in fact, many saw it as marking a new era in the pop icon’s career.
“Britney changed her insta name from Channel 8 to River Red, anyone know what that means? So vague,” one person said, according to British tabloid The Sun.
“The Channel 8 era is officially over. Britney Spears is now River Red,” added another.
“Wake me when, @RCArecords decided to start releasing an unreleased album of music.”
We’re not sure why the mysterious reference to Mars means Britney is releasing new music, but it makes more sense than the second most common theory – it’s Spears’ way of announcing the end of her marriage.
Well, after the restaurant incident, there were reports that Asghari was spotted acting “in control” of the British.
And apparently, some fans thought she was fed up and left the marriage.
Asghari spoke to TMZ this week to clear his name.
“No one, I don’t even control what we have for dinner!” male model against the site.
“Oh, you know in the past there were a lot of things that happened, so I understand where he’s coming from, he’s just a protector,” he said.
“If anything, he’s just a great fan,”
Well, it seems Sam is well aware of the incredible protectiveness Britney’s fans feel.
But that doesn’t mean everything won’t be very tiring.
