Sunak a net 10% behind Starmer in latest approval ratings – politicalbetting.com

This seems like a small improvement for PM and DeltaPoll’s figures are generally in line with other companies.

Given the very high proportion of CON GE2019 who said they did not know the purpose of the vote, this is probably a better measure of the current situation than the poll. As far as I can tell, the Tories are not far behind in their voting intention numbers because of this factor.

The challenge facing Sunak, remains huge and remember that in GE2019, the Tories had a 12% GB vote lead. He is a long way from reaching the pegging level.

I am still very much influenced by GE1992 when John Major managed to stay and do better than the polls.

I still think that a general majority will be hard for LAB to achieve, but Starmer will likely be the next PM.

Mike Smithson
