Jim Edmonds and Wife Kortnie Slam Meghan King as a Liar

Jim Edmonds Slams Meghan as a liar, she says "[Ruined]" Nanny Life as Kortnie Suspects Mental Illness and Recommends RHOC Alum "Don't care" How Behavior Impacts Kids

Jim Edmonds and Courtney O’Connor tell them all about the drama they are doing Meghan King.

As The Real Housewives of Orange County alum continues to bash the big baseball, most recently accusing him of “bullying” and using their children, six-year-old daughter Aspen and four-year-old twin sons Hayes and Hart, to hurt her, and apparently called out Kortnie to show pics of children against her wishes, Jim and Kortnie fired back at many alleged lies.

“I just think the only thing I can hang on to is that everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie,” Jim began on the Jan. 18 episode. Hollywood Raw podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glynnoted that Meghan had cheated on him and Kortnie got married on his birthday.

“It’s the 25th, not my ex’s birthday … I don’t even know where it’s from,” he said.

When Jim and Kortnie first started dating in early 2020, a few months after Jim and Meghan tied the knot for five years, Meghan claimed that she and Kortnie were actually friends – and had been dating Jim.

“I was actually friends with him first,” Kortnie explained. “Our mutual friends introduced us to Stage Coach and we were all there and it was a big group… They said we were best friends or something and I loved it. [stole] his wife and it seems far from the truth because I never knew him.

Meghan also alleged at the time that Jim had an inappropriate relationship with the nanny for three years, which Jim denied, saying he was more of a father figure for the woman – at Meghan’s request.

“Meghan was like, ‘Here, she’s got no dad, take her out for her 21st birthday’ … ‘She’s got no dad to do this, do this.’ So they’re like kids helping kids,” he said.

According to Jim, Meghan has since admitted she made up the rumors because “she was angry.”

“I was like, ‘Wow, that’s unfortunate because he just ruined her life’ … He went after Carly’s nanny so hard that he lost everything, all his self-esteem, everything, had to move out of town, start over. And it was so bad,” Jim said. “That’s something you don’t do for a 23-, 24-year-old kid.”

In the years since their separation, Jim claims he has spent “close to a hundred,” likely referring to $100,000, on the divorce and ongoing custody battle.

“We had an ironclad prenup and he struggled for a year and a half,” he explained.

And when it came to Kortnie, he felt Meghan’s actions could be the result of “mental illness”.

“I am not a doctor. I can’t like her label [nor] i want to… [But] I am worried because of this, why would you want yourself to constantly go through all this turmoil and put you and your family through it? It’s like you underestimate your family and yourself and everyone around you.”

“He said the court should assess his mental state and see [what] they came up with [and] if they also want to do it with him, that’s fair,” he added.

Amidst Meghan’s online attacks on Jim and Kortnie, Jim has also been dealt with a protection order (which was later thrown out), which Kortnie says Meghan filed for before they got married – even though they had been in a relationship.

“We’ve got the kids, we’ve seen them, they’ve been at home… They asked to meet at the kids’ school the day before. I was like, wait, if you’re scared for your life, do you call them and say, ‘Come ride together?’ ” Kortnie noted.

Jim also took aim at the antics of his ex-wife.

“The first thing was that I kicked his dog, which was completely false. I threatened his father. There were five things on this list before he said that I, uh, he was afraid of me. So it was never filed,” Jim explained. “It was written in a child’s handwriting, basically. Like he filled it all himself and sent it to the police station.

Although it has been more than three years since Meghan and Jim’s marriage ended (like Meghan’s ex RHOC co-star Vicki Gunvalson predictably), Kortnie says her relationship with her parents has worsened.

“In the beginning, we could see each other and exchange kids and stuff, but now we have a babysitter doing it,” Kortnie said. “If I’m needed, I’ll come in. But he makes it hard for me to even be a parent with him because he talks about me. He embarrasses me, humiliates me. And it’s like, how many punches do you take in the face before you say enough? “

According to Kortnie, even Jim’s older children were affected.

“He is a junior high school student [and] they are angry… It’s not fair,” he said. “He’s being teased at school and at school. It’s like he doesn’t care at all.”

When Jim was asked what he would say to Meghan if he had the chance, Jim had a firm message:

“You tell your lawyer, you tell your friends, you want to be a parent. But every time I turn around, you’re bashing me on every talk show, on every TV show, in every, you know, even the simplest post that he make take a jab at me… Go ahead. You’re married, you’ve dated four different men who’ve lived in your house for a while. You have kids. I’m their father. Like, when are you going to stop write all this so that the children will not see it?”

One of Jim’s favorite things was Meghan’s public discussion of her sex life and her partner.

“A woman, as we know, will be a cat. [Aspen’s] bakal ana ing kahanan sing ana wong sing bakal ngomong, ‘Hei, ibumu kecanthol karo uh, iki-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan-lan ing akhir minggu sing padha.’ And, ‘Is she a lesbian? Is he straight? Is she bi? … How many men have you slept with in a year?’” Jim commented. “[I’m] just worried about my kids … I can’t imagine saying that, not thinking, ‘Man, my kids are going to hear this one day.’”

And speaking of his children, Jim explained that Hart does not have cerebral palsy.

“It’s called [Periventricular Leukomalacia, or PVL] and it’s kind of like its own little. This is the initial stage. So it’s not technically cerebral palsy,” Jim confirmed his son’s diagnosis. “There are a lot of different versions… He had behavioral problems and was slower, but he caught on and, and you, if you interacted with him for a few hours, you would never know.”

“Why put a stamp on him?” Jim was amazed. “He was never diagnosed [cerebral palsy] … Even my parents were like, ‘Don’t they know that this is going to label this kid forever?’ … The thing that worries me the most is, um, his friends will find out and see and read … The kids won’t understand and the parents will say, ‘Oh, watch out. He’s got a problem.’”

As for whether he and Meghan will make peace, Jim says he won’t be “forever talking” because Kortnie is hoping for more.

“I hope that when he’s happy, we can all be happy,” he said.
