A TikTok user by handling isaiahgarza has gone viral after he featured an 8-year-old cancer patient getting a special gift from the song’s writer and singer, Tom Higgenson. The video begins by showing medical staff entering Delilah’s hospital room with exciting news. The narrator of the clip excitedly told the girl:
“Hi Dilah! … I have a surprise for you. This is a special video that Hey There singer Delilah sent to you! And he made it just for you.
Delilah’s eyes widened after hearing the shocking news and she could barely contain her grimace. The song is her favorite, after all! Who doesn’t love receiving videos from their favorite singers?!
The caption on the video shows that Delilah has been listening to the song every day during her 4-year battle with cancer, so she’s been through a lot of tough times. He was delighted to see Tom appear on the screen of the narrator’s phone. In the video message, the singer said:
“What’s wrong Delilah? It’s Tom from Plain White T. I hear you’re a big fan of our song Hi Delilah so i thought i would play it for you now. Well.”
The song didn’t last long, though! The musicians suddenly stopped to bring Delilah an even better surprise:
“Actually you know what? I have a better idea, wait a minute.
As she looked up into the doorway Tom walked right up to her with a guitar in hand! When he started playing his favorite song, Delilah watched with amazement and a gigantic smile on her face. So cute!
Later, the girl and the medical staff started singing along with Plain White T’s vocalist, surely lighting up the hospital floor! At the end of the video, Tom dedicates his last line to her and hugs her:
“Hey Delilah, this is for you.”
