Georgia football mourns the loss of Willock and LeCroy

Statement from the UGA Athletic Association

“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy. Two other members of the football program were injured in the crash. Both are in stable condition, and we will continue to monitor his status with medical personnel.” Devin and Chandler are two special people who are very important to the University of Georgia, the football program and the athletic department. We ask that the entire family continue to pray during this very difficult time. “The UGA Athletic Association will work closely with our medical team as well as mental health and performance personnel to ensure that we provide the best possible support to our staff and student-athletes as they process this grief. We are unable to comment further at this time, but ask that everyone keep watching over those who join in your prayers.”

“We are all saddened and devastated by the loss of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy. Devin was an amazing young man in every way and always had a smile on his face. He was a great friend and a joy to coach. Chandler was a valuable member of the football staff and brought his amazing attitude and energy every day.We are with his family in this tragic loss and will support him in any way we can.
