At Glee alum, 36, opened up about getting a letter of approval from the original Funny Girl star during her 13 January, look at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Michele took over the role of Fanny Bryce on Broadway Funny Girl revival in September 2022.
“I cried, I filmed myself opening it. There was literally a golden envelope. It flew on a pigeon,” Michele joked to Fallon, 48.
When the host asked where the letter was now, Michele revealed that it had a special place next to her son Ever’s hair.
“It was incredible, and now everyone is like, ‘Are you going to frame it? What are you going to do?’ I just – I put it in the safe at home,” explained Michele. “The only thing in the safe was a letter from Barbra Streisand and my daughter, the first hair that was cut from her hair. So it was my daughter’s hair and a letter from Barbra Streisand, and there it was.
Michele gave birth to son Ever Leo, her first child with her husband Zandy Reichin August 2020. “Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts and I’m happy to be Ever’s mother. It’s so special to make my lullaby album [Forever, released in November 2021] as a tribute to him,” the Scream Queens special alum to Us Weekly in May 2022. “I want to sing songs that are special and important to me that have a special meaning.
