Ghana’s Richard Commey is on the fight card on March 25

Ghanaian boxer Richard Commey will take on Jose Ramirez in the main event on March 25 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

The bout was a super lightweight bout involving a former world champion; Commey is a former IBF lightweight champion while Ramirez is a former WBO and WBC light welterweight champion.

The fight is scheduled to start at 3:00 AM with Ramirez taking the fight after passing up the chance to fight WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis due to a purse split that favored Prograis 65-35.

Commey came off an entertaining split with Jose Pedraza; Ramirez defeated Pedraza in 2021 after losing to Josh Taylor.

A win for Commey puts him back on the list of contenders for a title shot after being dominated by Vasiliy Lomachenko in a fight for the WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title.
