Government Tackles Ayensuano Roads

The Akufo-Addo led government has started the reconstruction of major roads in Kraboa/Coaltar in Ayensuano District in the Eastern Region.
There is also rehabilitation, some community roads around 36 kilometers in the district.

Ayensuano District used to be part of Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District which was created in 1988, and then the southern part of the District was divided into Ayensuano on June 28, 2012.

Interestingly, the District whose capital is Coaltar where many villages do not have a single paved road and have a poor road network, making the place impassable and hampering economic activities.

However, the current government last year took steps to address some of the main road networks in the Regency.

The project implemented by the Government of Ghana and overseen by the Assembly is expected to be completed in the Third Quarter of this year.

The District Chief Executive in the area, Josephine Awuku, who led contractors to inspect some roads at the weekend noted that all the Districts have bad roads since the creation of the Assembly from Suhum Municipality.

He said the situation has affected the economic situation of the people, thus making the assembly struggle to generate income to start development projects in the area.

He noted that his outfit had been able to get a bad road to be awarded when the construction had started.

Mrs. Awuku further explained that the main road from the District capital to Nsawam and Asamankese stretch will be paved before the end of the year so that it can be motorized to increase the movement of vehicles and thus increase revenue and increase development projects.

He added that, later on, roads that are connected to large communities in the Regency will also be repaired.

He called on the citizens to gather support in the ruling government as the project began to be successfully implemented.

The training started last year in December and is still going on.
