For five years now, Bolt, Ghana’s leading mobility app, has been continuously connecting riders to drivers providing safe, reliable and convenient rides across eight cities in the country.

Bolt Food, which has been operating for two years, has bridged the gap between restaurants, small and medium food vendors and customers through fast food delivery.

While 2022 was a year of highs and lows for most people in Ghana, some milestones, events and moments will remain in the memory.

Additionally, below are some insights and trends about Bolt in 2022 that you may find interesting.

Bolt Rides

In 2022, one outstanding rider took a total of 1,348, making it the highest number of rides by one passenger.

Overall, the most popular pick-up location in 2022 was Kpeshie, while the most popular destination was VIP Circle Bus Terminal in Accra, possibly due to the importance of this location for cross-country travel.

The most popular destinations for Bolt riders in various cities in 2022 are Hutchland Beach in Cape Coast, Trafalgar in Ho, Accra Bus Station, Koforidua in Koforidua, Asafo VIP Station in Kumasi and Takoradi University of Technology in Takoradi.

Most popular day ride-hailing

Mobility has become a critical necessity for most Ghanaians when it comes to commuting for work, business, leisure and worship, but more often than not, some important days see heavy surges due to events like festivals and the like.

In 2022, Bolt’s busiest day was Friday, February 25, recording more than 148,000 rides in Accra. In Kumasi, 6Th March 2022 recorded a record of over 21,000 rides after the city was first chosen to host Ghana’s 65th Independence Anniversary. With this came guests who loved the convenience and reliability of the Bolt. This was replicated in Takoradi, which recorded over 8,800 rides, the highest number in a single day during Independence Day.

The most rides recorded in Cape Coast were (718) in 9Th March 2022, 610 rides in Ho on the 15thTh June 2022, and 474 rides in Koforidua on the 17thTh June 2022, when Sunyani and Tamale have the most rides in one day on the 21stSt May and 31stSt August respectively.

Cities with the most riders

Accra leads the pack with the most passengers in 2022, with 1,348 rides, which is an average of 3 trips per day for this rider at a minimum. Kumasi and Tamale, the next big cities after Accra, followed the highest ridership with 715 and 705 rides respectively.

While other cities saw fewer top passengers riding, Koforidua stood up for Bolt as single passengers took 407 rides in 2022, almost double the number of Bolts riding Cape Coast’s top passenger of 237.

Food Bolt

Now Bolt Food is a great platform for anyone who wants a bite, snack, meal, drink or treat delivered right to their doorstep. In line with the Independence Day celebrations and vibes, 7Th March 2022 is the date with the most food orders, probably because many people are at home and want to take a break from home-cooked meals.

In 2022, the most expensive order for Bolt Food was GHS 8,316.70, while the largest order processed by Bolt Food was 31 items.

For 2n.d consecutive years, the most popular dish at Bolt Food restaurant is KFC Highway 3, included Chips and Chicken. At KFC Streetwise 3 ordered 165, 202 times on Bolt Food in 2022.

Since Bolt Food has a great feature where anyone who orders leaves a tip for the courier, the biggest tip in 2022 is GHS100.
