Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, who made the position known. warned that leaving the social media to operate without regulation could result in more lawlessness, violence and deaths, explaining that the Federal Government is not against free speech.
NIgerian President, Muhammadu Buhari said it is dangerous to allow the citizens say their minds through social media because the resultant effect are: Lawlessness, breaking of orders, violence and death. His position was made known by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, who made a flagrant display of hypocrisy and shamelessness, by saying the FG is not against free speech; as reported by wazobiareporters. Below is his statement:
Nigerian government is desperately seeking for ways to silence oppositions and kill citizens who constructively criticizes the government. The evidence is clear, the Fulani Terrorist Herdsmen who have been killing, raping and sacking villagers from their ancenstral homes have no laws to hang them, and their barbaric acts are not causing violence and death. The President who have repeatedly disobeyed court orders are not causing violence, death and pains to those involved. It is hypocritical to say that those who speaks their opinions are causing lawlessness when it is obvious that Mr Buhari is lawlessness personified. Is left for people of Nigeria who are capable of reasoning to judge Mr Buhari and is his statement.
